Audience Response Ratings

Audience members are invited to rate each film using a ‘tear slip‘:

The ratings follow for nearly all the films from our inauguration in 2012. There are a few films where the ratings are missing due to ‘administrative error’.

The numbers under 5, 4, 3, 2, 1, and ‘bomb’ indicate the number of votes for each category of stars. The ‘Total‘ column shows the total number of slips received – usually around 90% of the total audience size. The ‘Mean‘ column shows the average of the stars received.

For 2017, the average number of stars was 4.10 meaning just over 4 stars. The average number of slips returned for 2017 was 31.5 indicating an average audience of around 35.

At the end of 2017, our highest scoring film was ‘Like Father, Like Son‘ with a perfect 5* score. The lowest score went to ‘Tale of Tales‘, which still earned 3.22 stars. Interestingly, the top two highest rated films were both foreign language with subtitles.

You can sort the tables by clicking on the column headings. For example, clicking on ‘Title’ will list the films alphabetically (click again to change from A-Z to Z-A). Clicking on ‘Mean’ will let you see the highest and lowest rated films.
